On February 28, Sustainable Stouffville joined an inspiring gathering in Richmond Hill called the “Stronger Together” event. This event was part of the Stronger Together Tour, organized by the David Suzuki Foundation and led by Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki alongside writer and activist Tara Cullis. The event brought together community members, environmental groups, and local leaders to discuss climate action and ways to build stronger, more resilient communities.

The event focused on how communities can work together to respond to climate change, combining emission reduction with adaptation strategies that help communities deal with extreme weather and environmental impacts.
The primary take-a-way was: Reducing greenhouse gas emissions is important but we are past a tipping point. The workshop emphasized that Action happens at the community level. We need to work together as neighbours to put in place adaptation tools and strategies.
You can view Suzukis' message here:
Tools and Strategies:

Pre-plan community communications channels,
