
Our Board
Get to know the dedicated individuals driving change in Sustainable Stouffville. Our board members are passionate about creating a greener, more sustainable community for all. Each member brings unique skills and perspectives to the table, united by a common goal of environmental stewardship.
Sustainable Stouffville is an unincorporated, not-for-profit association formed on March 25th, 2025 within the Province of Ontario by its founding members. Our Constitution is available to view . Our Annual General Meeting is held in January of each year.

President
Myles O'Brien
Myles has worked on local sustainability issues for over 15 years, as a municipal employee and as a Stouffville resident and volunteer. He has played an active role with Stouffville’s Community Energy Cooperative, Downtown Farmers Market, Environmental Stewardship Committee, and Strawberry Festival.

Director at Large
Harry French
Harry is dedicated to building a more environmentally sustainable planet through collaborative practices. He has lived in Stouffville since 2006. He has served on the Strawberry Festival Board and Committee for over 12 years as President and responsible for Festival Logistics.
Harry established the Whitchurch Stouffville Community Energy Co-operative, a planned 250 kw, community owned solar and led the Opening Launch committee for 19 on the Park. For the last seven years, Harry has worked with York and Durham Region based businesses and municipalities through the ClimateWise Business Network to facilitate greenhouse emission reductions.

Director of Communications
Chantelle Masur
Chantelle (her/she) has worked and volunteered in the Non-Profit Sustainability sector for over fifteen years. As the Assistant Manager of Sustainable Communities at CultureLink Settlement and Community Services, she managed a suite of programs that served more than 10,000 clients across the GTA. Chantelle served as a Board member for Cycle Toronto and the Stouffville Pride Committee. She has volunteered on various municipal committees including Stouffville’s Road Watch Staff Working Group.

Vice President
Catherine McCowan
Catherine is focused on projects that improve food security. She is active in Stouffville and has volunteered with a wide range of organizations over many years.
An engineer by training, Catherine has worked in many areas of natural gas transmission and distribution from R&D to Engineering, Operations, and Energy Transition.
Catherine lives in Stouffville with her husband Steve - they have three kids and many pets.

Treasurer
Tanya Porter
Tanya is the Co-Founder of Changent Zero, a community initiative connecting personal wellbeing with environmental responsibility. She is also the Founder and Living Arts Director of The Inner Space, where she has taught meditation, classical yoga, and creative wellness practices for over 20 years.
A long-time Stouffville resident, Tanya brings entrepreneurial experience and a deep commitment to sustainable, connected communities to her role as Treasurer with Sustainable Stouffville.
