Candidates for a
Climate-Ready Stouffville
Committing to Climate Readiness. Committing to Stouffville’s Future.

We’re pleased to see candidates in Whitchurch-Stouffville stepping up to support climate readiness in our community!
The Climate Readiness Pledge gives municipal election candidates an opportunity to publicly commit to making climate preparedness, community resilience, and a strong local economy key priorities if elected.
What does signing the pledge mean?
By signing, a candidate is recognizing the risks that climate change presents to our community and committing, if elected, to move or support a Council motion to dedicate staff and financial resources toward the actions outlined in the pledge. These include preparing for extreme weather, strengthening infrastructure, protecting natural areas, supporting local food and businesses, and helping residents and businesses become more climate-ready.
